The drive home

August, with windows down
We took the slower road home and stopped whenever someone said that the next place would definitely have better coffee. This produced a useful collection of cups and very little evidence that the next place was better.
The light came through the diner window for about three minutes. By the time I found the camera, the interesting cloud had moved. I kept the picture because the car looks as though it is waiting more patiently than we were.
Delavan
In Delavan we stopped at Tower Park, Wisconsin. There is a giraffe statue with a clown and an elephant nearby, commemorating the town’s circus history. It was a perfectly ordinary stop to stretch our legs. I kept trying to get the whole giraffe into a picture and kept cutting something off.
I have not uploaded that attempt. The town’s visitor page identifies the park. The coffee picture is better. We sat on a bench long enough to forget we had meant to stop for five minutes.
Small travelling advice
Put a second bag in the car for the things acquired in the first bag. We came home with a small book, a jar of jam and a shelf which was only a bargain because nobody had yet measured it.
I still prefer keeping the actual pictures together here. Home.
